It looks like the Chinese military is once again sentiment it is oats, and it’s been a long time since the Chinese have had such an unbelievable fleet of vessels. It’s as if they are reliving the Ming Dynasty and the treasure fleet sails again. This time, they have an aircraft carrier, not one that was indigenously built, but rather one which was purchased from a former Soviet Union state. This aircraft carrier has been refitted, refurbished, repainted, and now will stand as a symbol to the Red Chinese Army’s Navy. On or in regards to August 10, 2011 there was an interesting article in Industry Week Online News titled; “China’s First Aircraft Carrier Makes Maiden Trip,” By Marianne Barriaux of the Agence France-Presse, which stated in the leader paragraph; “Earlier this year the Chinese army revealed it was manufacturing it is initial stealth fighter jet, & it is also working on an anti-ballistic missile capable of piercing the defenses of even the sturdiest U.S. naval ships.” The article also stated; “China’s firstborn aircraft carrier embarked on it is inaugural sea trial on August 10. Beijing only not long back confirmed it was revamping an old Soviet ship to be it is basi carrier playing down it is capability, stating it will be used for training & research. The voyage comes amid intensified tensions over a number of maritime territorial disputes, notably in the South China Sea, which is rich in oil & gas, and claimed by various countries.” It is interesting that the Chinese have devised an anti-ship missile, which they say is competent of sinking a United States aircraft carrier, and then have the audacity to sail one of it is own aircraft carriers, as if the United States doesn’t have anti-ship missiles, hypersonic projectiles, silent running submarines, or stealth aircraft which may come in close and take out a huge ship of this type. The Chinese appear to be playing the Cold War game, a little bit in front of schedule. I believe this to be their folly. It makes no sense to challenge the United States military, or start out playing games with such an inferior force. China claims to have stealth aircraft, ICBM ship missiles, and assorted other new technologies such as killer satellite weapons. Very few of which have been tested and none in actual battle, and yet China is flexing it is muscle, while calling for peace and international economic cooperation. It would seem to me that provoking the United States with spies in our country, cyber attacks, economic warfare, and syndication weapons to our foes are bad ways to kick off negotiations. You see, in the United States we go for a Western win-win type of diplomacy. China needs to jump out of Sun Tzu mode, and get with the program if it hopes to be taken seriously, before it inadvertently starts a war it can’t finish. Of course, this is just my opinion, and I am basing it on 5,000 years of recorded humane history, and the faults of great empires which are no longer with us today. Please consider all this and think on it. |
